The Story Behind Riello Burners - From Innovation to Perfection Since 1922

In 1920s Italy, Riello pioneers adapted domestic light oil burners for bakers’ ovens by modifying household light oil burners.

Then, in 1923, Riello R&D achieved another milestone due to the gasoil crisis by successfully adjusting their burners to accommodate heavy fuel oil.

The company focused on innovation in the 1930s and 40s, adapting to market changes and user demands. In 1950 Riello heavily invested in expanding production and burner component automation.

Remaining at the forefront of the oil burner industry during the 1960s, 70s, and 80s due to continuous growth, Riello expanded throughout Europe, entered the US market, and established production facilities in Canada.

Additionally, between 1985 and 1990, Riello opened subsidiaries in England, Germany, France, Belgium, and Switzerland.

The specialised Riello Burners brand, established in 1998, catered to the company’s expanding range of burners. And by 2005, Riello Burners were selling approximately 500,000 burners annually in the domestic, commercial, and industrial sectors.

Underpinned by extensive R&D at Riello’s Combustion Research Centre, Riello Burners maintains a leading position in Europe with its pre-mix monobloc burners offering high efficiency and extremely low NOx emissions.
