In a thrilling conclusion to the 2024 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) season, Jake Hill emerged victorious, claiming his well-deserved BTCC Drivers’ Championship title after an action-packed final day at Brands Hatch.

Jake Hill, our championship driver, delivered a spectacular performance under immense pressure, securing the coveted British Touring Car Championship title.

A BTCC Battle for the Ages

Arriving at Brands Hatch tied on points with his championship rival, Tom Ingram, Hill knew that every race would be decisive. The weekend kicked off with a bang at the Druids hairpin as Hill, on the opening lap of the race, found himself in second place by the exit of the second turn.

Jake then took the lead of the race after passing his WSR stablemate Colin Turkington and stormed to victory in the opening race, his eighth of the season​.

Race Two saw the pendulum swing back in favour of Ingram as damp conditions favoured the front-wheel-drive cars, Hill lost the lead to championship rival Tom Ingram on the fifth lap. As the tension mounted, it became clear that the championship would be decided in the third and final race of the day.

Sealing the Championship in Style

Race Three, starting just one point ahead in the championship standings, Hill faced wet conditions and a chaotic start having been overtaken by his championship rival, Ingram, who was running fourth, but our BMW driver stayed composed. As his tyres warmed up, Hill began to fight back.

The Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport driver eventually overcame Dan Cammish in a fierce battle, moving up to fifth and closing in on Ingram. Overtaking Ingram on the outside at Surtees in a move that would ultimately define his championship bid​.

From there, Hill surged through the field, taking both Taylor-Smith and Cook to get into second place. With Ingram unable to respond, Hill crossed the finish line, securing his first BTCC and a sensational 2024 campaign that saw him accumulate 421 points, thanks to eight wins and 16 podiums.

Overwhelmed with the support, Hill described the experience as “everything I’ve ever dreamed of and more,” expressing his gratitude to his team and supporters​.

A Season of Hard Work, Consistency and Triumph

Hill’s 2024 campaign has been nothing short of remarkable. Throughout the season Jake has demonstrated exceptional skill and determination, notching eight wins, and 16 podium finishes.

“Being the 2024 BTCC Champion feels incredible—it hasn’t quite sunk in yet.”

Reflecting on his journey, Hill said, “As I approached the last corner at Clearways, the emotions started to hit me, and I got a bit teary-eyed—we just brought it home. Crossing the finish line was an amazing experience.”​.
